With more than a decade of experience in sports broadcasting, facility management, and nonprofit leadership, Ryne has built a reputation for creating programs that connect people, elevate local organizations, and strengthen communities.
Since 2017, Ryne has served as Sports & Marketing Director at Fitness World Sports Complex, where he founded and built the facility’s Athletic Department into one of the region’s premier destinations for youth and adult sports. He oversees day-to-day operations, large-scale tournaments, leagues, and camps while leading the brand’s marketing strategy and digital voice. His work expanding inclusive programming—such as SilverSneakers, Toddler Time, Homeschool P.E., and adaptive fitness initiatives—has brought new audiences into the facility and increased community participation.
IN media, Ryne is an accomplished sports broadcaster and journalist, currently calling play-by-play for WCIU-TV, Illinois College athletics, and numerous Central Illinois high school programs. He has been a familiar voice on WLDS/WEAI Radio since 2011 and previously served as News Director and Assistant News Director. His work has earned multiple honors, including an Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award and recognition as a finalist for Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
Community service is central to Ryne’s mission. He is the creator and host of the Hot Wing Charity Challenge, which has raised over $50,000 for local charities, and has held leadership roles with United Way, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and other regional initiatives. He also created a free adult special needs fitness program and a downtown trivia league supporting local businesses and causes.
Ryne is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Whether behind a microphone, managing a facility, or leading a fundraiser, his work is driven by one goal: building stronger, more connected communities through sports, storytelling, and service.
